The importance of vitamins D3 and K2 for health
For a long time, the harm caused by a lack of vitamin D was ignored because exposure to sunlight and diet seemed to be sufficient sources for the body to produce it in ideal quantities.
But today, this lack has been noted again and we are forced to recommend to a large part of the population a regular supplementation in vitamin D3. Indeed, 80% of the French population would be concerned, especially women over 50 years old, obese people, as well as pregnant women, especially those who will give birth in winter or spring. This concerns many other cases as well. The normal blood level of vitamin D must be higher than 75 nmol/l (i.e. 30ng/ml).
The consequences of a lack
In humans, vitamin D is synthesized by skin cells through the action of UV-B rays from the sun. It can also be provided by the diet, in particular egg yolk, fatty fish (herring, mackerel, sardines) and cod liver oil. Unfortunately, good quality food sources have become scarce while exposure to the sun is no longer sufficient in a society that lives much less in the open air. The lack of vitamin D is therefore felt.
Vitamin D3 contributes to : - to the intestinal absorption of calcium and phosphorus leading to bone consolidation and normal bone structure; to the mineralization of teeth and the maintenance of normal dentition, - to normal blood calcium levels - to the maintenance of normal muscle function
- normal functioning of the immune system in children; necessary for normal growth and bone development
- It plays a role in the process of cell division
A lack of vitamin D3 is therefore not without consequences and supplementation is strongly recommended in a weakened population, whose body no longer synthesizes the quantities it needs.
Vitamin D3
We use a vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) that is perfectly suited to the body as the main form of vitamin D it needs. Vitamin D3 represents 80 to 90% of the body's required intake, which is not the case for vitamin D2.
Vitamin K2
Vitamin K2, on the other hand, is a powerful antioxidant that is not very present in the diet and yet is essential for skeletal health, especially in people whose bone fragility is increased by age, excess weight, diabetes, pregnancy, etc. It helps to fix calcium and transport it to the bone tissue. Supplementation with vitamin D3 and calcium is therefore not effective if you do not add vitamin K2.
The vitamin K2 used in our formula is Menaquinone MK7.
Liposomes, transport agents
These are small, flexible vesicles made up of a double layer of lipids enclosing a compartment filled with water in which they can encapsulate and protect active substances, in this case vitamin D3, to transport them safely to the cells where they will be released with all their properties intact.
How to use
Directly on the tongue, any time of the day.
14 drops provide 2000 IU of vitamin D3 and 150 micrograms of vitamin K2
Tinted glass bottle with pipette 100 ml = about 1800 drops.
Caution! An overdose can lead to undesirable effects such as intense thirst and dehydration, nausea and vomiting, renal failure.
