Description
The body can synthesize N-acetylcysteine (NAC), but an external contribution is often useful. This amino acid, which activates glutathione production, has a highly effective antioxidant effect, as well as detoxifying properties. As a precursor, NAC maintains efficient levels ofglutathione. It plays an active role, at all levels, in the body's defense system, and in physical and mental well-being.
The role of the NAC
The presence of NAC in the body is essential for the synthesis of glutathione, a powerful natural antioxidant. It also participates in the synthesis of cystine, rich in sulfur, which promotes healing and hair growth.
Its action on the immune system
NAC is a primary agent of immunity that increases the levels of glutathione in the body glutathione, one of the most powerful antioxidants. It is an excellent asset in the fight against free radicals causing oxidative stress which can lead to many problems. Its role is therefore essential when the quantity of glutathione decreases in the cells due to a bad diet, the presence of environmental toxins, exposure to stress, but also when the body ages.
Mood disorders
NAC can improve several essential brain functions such as learning, memory and other brain activities.
It normalizes the levels of dopamine and glutamine which are deregulated. When their level is excessive, while that of glutathione is too low, brain activity is disturbed.
